Terms of Service — Taxfold

1. What Taxfold is

Taxfold is an estimates-only bookkeeping helper. It helps you set a percentage of your income aside for tax, log income and expenses, and see arithmetic based on static, dated reference tables. It is not a tax adviser, accountant, or filing service. It does not submit anything to any tax authority, and no output of the app is a statement of what you legally owe.

2. No professional advice

All figures — the pot, the estimated bill, the quarterly estimate, the "likely deductible" tag on a receipt — are arithmetic estimates and suggestions for your own bookkeeping. Tax law differs by person, region and year. Always confirm your actual obligations with a qualified professional or your tax authority. We are not responsible for decisions taken on the basis of the app's estimates.

3. Your data is yours

Entries live only on your device. You are responsible for your own backups — export from Settings regularly, especially before changing or losing your phone. We cannot recover data we never had.

4. Receipt scanning

The scan feature sends a downscaled receipt photo to our processing endpoint and returns recognised fields, as described in the Privacy Policy. The "deductible" judgement is a suggestion; only your own decision records it. If the reading service is unavailable or unfunded, the app falls back to manual entry.

5. Subscription

Taxfold Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Google Play. Payment, renewal and cancellation are handled by Google under their terms; cancelling stops future billing, handled entirely in your Google Play account. Refunds are subject to Google Play policy.

6. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to use the app or its endpoint for unlawful purposes, to abuse the processing endpoint, or to reverse the provider key (which is not in the app). We may rate-limit or suspend access to the processing endpoint for abuse.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Loadcircle Ltd provides Taxfold "as is" without warranties of any kind, and is not liable for tax assessments, penalties, or losses arising from use of the app's estimates. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
